This problem is the multifunction switch in the steering column .there are two different circuits that travel through the multifunction turn signal switch this should be replaced.

Where is the turn signal flasher on a 1999 sunfire

Hello! The flasher is located on the driver's side under the dash, and at the top of the brake pedal. It will have the number printed on the side of it - it's important to match that up at the auto parts store and replace it with the correct one.

Hope this helps and thanks for using FixYa!

1998 pontiac sunfire, where is te turn signal fuse

When you open up the drivers side door there should be a panel right on the end of the dashboard. Pull it open and look there. I generally have the fuse diagrams but can't seem to find it for your car. It might be written on the inside of the panel you pull off. You should also have the diagram inside of your book you got with the car unless someone took it out. Look in your glove box it might be there.
