Question about 2007 Mercury Montego AWD Sedan
Does anyone have a solution for a 2007 Mercury Montego with problems in a tail-light? The LED lights are inside the tail-light assembly and there seems to be no simple way to repair them, Can the housing be separated to access the LED's? Thanks!

I have never heard of this particular problem however my experience has taught me that generally with led's you have to make sure you have a good clean ground. led's draw more amprage in the circuit and if the ground is weak it will back feed this is what is most likely setting off the fault light. a quick fix is to just add a ground to the harness. hard wire a white 12 gauge wire to the main harness on both sides and then you can connect the wire to the metal of the trunk with self tapping metal screws. this will give you a good clean ground. this will do the trick.... SOURCE: cruise control turns off when
If this problem was not there before you installed LED lights that may be the cause, there may be a electrical spike from the LED high voltage circuit that turns the cruise off, you might want to call the tech support of the company that made the LED light kit.

I had the HARDEST time with the lights...I never realized changing a bulb would be so difficult. Once you unscrew what you need to, go into the trunk and pull the lining away from the back part of the light. There are the white prongs that you will need to tap with a hammer until they pop out and then the light assembly will come out. Be careful though, I got a little too impatient and broke mine. I used a binding agent to hold it back in place though...GOOD LUCK!

The one thing youll find with subaru's is that they like to put nuts in funny places that are hard to access. There are either 3 or 4 nuts holding the tail-light assembly in place, which means youll need to take out most of the inner panels to access the others. You should not need a sealant unless the rubber seal is done for or there is water inside the car. Hope this helps
