Question about 2002 Volkswagen Cabrio

Horn blows three times while driving

My horn will blow three times when driving on its own. Had it to the dealer three times. They fixed the trunk switch. The said they found water in the drivers door and cleaned it out and that seem to work for about a day. They thought at first it was the drivers door handle switch. But thought they fixed it by drying out the harness. The remote entry doesn't work either. Can this be part of the alarm? If so can it be bypassed and a aftermarket one be put in to eliminate this problem?

Water can conduct electricity and cause your problems. Door lock mechanism or comfort module. I'd have to the dealer take another look for corroded wiring or moisture.

SOURCE: 1998 Ford windstar horn wiring

There is something called a clock spring in the column that is used for the airbag, horn and cruise control buttons. This clock spring if messed with will cause a/bag light to come on and possibly cause a/bag failure if there is a collision. DON"T mess with the wiring in the column. Run new wires in to the horn or install an a/market horn.

SOURCE: Horn blows fuses

The most common cause of this short is the horn coil, replace the horn and the problem will be fixed, a quick test is to disconnect the horn and press the horn button, if the fuse doesn't blow the horn is the problem.

SOURCE: 2004 Camry horn is not

How about ground. The horn must receive 12 volts and ground to work. If its getting both, change the horn.

Horn keeps going off unexpectedly- usually at night

Often times the problem is a weak horn relay or a weak horn pad on the steering wheel. You can remove the horn relay or fuse to prevent the horn from blowing until the problem is fixed.

99 dodge durango. My horn keeps blowing the 20 amp fuse under hood. There is also a horn relay. Could that be the problem? The horn will work after I replace the 20 amp, but blows within a few times of...

could be you might check it out. many items take the same relay so you might try exchanging it with another one with the same numbers. If that isn't it you may have a short in the horn itself.

I have a 2002 suzuki xl7 and when you press the brake pedal it blows the fuse, cruise control and horn are on the same fuse, when you blow the horn the fuxe does not blow but as soon as you push the brake...

It will be the brake switch that the pedal operates. It may be that the same switch is used to de-activate the cruise control when on. And it's on the same circuit as the horn, so when you have no horn, you know you've got no brake lights. Go to you Dealer and get a new switch - they have been modified a long time ago.

95 buick lasabre horn problem

Ever find out what to do with this? I'm running into the same problem and see multiple refrences to it, but not much for follow up on what fixed it. I pulled the fuse for mine, but it kills the trunk release and automatic locks...so I'm not a big fan of that.

Horn blows fuses

you may need to put a relay in it as the current from the horn may be back feeding up the immobiliser horn circuit and causing a short. Sounds like the immobiiliser has its own source of power seperate from the factory circuit When you press the horn the power goes to the horn and up the immobiliser horn circuit and it blows the fuse.
