Sounds like warped rotors, If you hit a large puddle of water with hot rotors this can happen or if you use excessive brake. Best to have the rotors turned and new pads installed. (I use organic pads to reduce rotor wear but many shops do not like to use them) The organic pads are softer and wear out sooner but you really want to have the brake system serviced annually under ideal circumstances. Hope this is useful.
sounds like you have a warpped brake rotor, bad ball joint, or a bad tire. I would recommed taking the truck to a tire shop and have them shake down the front end that will tell you if its a tire or ball joint
The front end of the vehicle has several parts that cause the front end to shake. Have you had the front end checked for bad tie rod ends, That is the most common problem.Another thing when does it shake? If it shakes while applying the brakes it could be the rotors need to be turned or it could be both the tie rod ends or the rotors.
I highly recommend a front end alignment, and tire balancing. While it's being checked out, they can tell you if the front shock/struts are worn as well. Alignment is most likely the culprit.. k
Exact same thing happened to me. On my 03 taurus and 03 Windstar. It ended up be worn inner tie rod ends. Would reccommend an inspection of bushings, tie rods etc.
It sounds like you have either a broken steel belt in your tire or a worn out idler arm in your steering assembly. Other causes may be a bent wheel, a flat spot on the tire or worst case your brake rotor / wheel hub may be loose. If the rotor / wheel hub is loose you may have severly damaged wheel bearings. Good luck...
did you check your brake rotor for warpage. even a .010 warp on the rotor will be felt in the steering when aplying the brakes. use a dial indicator to check the warping
thanks i have new rotors and brakes ready to be put on.
