2000 bonn. super charge intake manifold gasket help please
We had a leak on the intake manifld gasket on our bonn. super charge. we had the gasket replaced and when we picked the car up it has white smoke that comes out of both tail pipes. it has been 2 months and stiil has smoke coming out. idid tell the mechanic and he said he would call us back he did not .We did not have smoke coming out until he touched it can anyone help

The gasket you had replaced was the lower intake manifold? this gasket can leak coolant and cause white smoke to come from the exhaust. the exhaust is actually single with dual outlet at muffler. when an engine is getting coolant into the cylinder it burns and causes white smoke much like steam. if the engine is running rough and has the check engine light on then it sounds like you have either a leaking intake manifold or problems with the cylinder head or heads. head(s) could have a bad gasket or a crack. only way for sure to tell is too remove manifold or head(s). call the repair shop and demand to have it looked at again. also have another totally separate repair shop inspect it to have a second opinion.

I had a 2000 malibu 3.1 and the manifold gasket was leaking. Model years affected, 97-04. Check the recovery coolant tank and if it looks like a milk shake instead of coolant, then you have a bad intake manifold gasket. I replaced mine a few years ago and all was fine. Engines affected are the 2.4-3.1-and 3.5, look very carefully around the intake manifold and you will see it if its leaking! operating the engine with a coolant/oil mix can result in internal engine damage. Replacing the intake manifold gasket should correct these leaks. Because oil will mix with coolant if gasket is bad. Hope this helps you out! Good-Day!
Have you replaced the intake manifold gaskets? These engines have a history of leaking intake manifold gaskets. Water leaks into the intake and is burned off in the cylinders. If the engine overheats enough times, you will eventually blow the head gaskets.
Start by performing a compression check to make sure you haven't blown the head gaskets. Then make sure the car is really overheating (i.e. check the temperature of the engine with a infrared thermometer (they are cheap at Harbor Freight).
If it is really overheating, and you've really changed everything else, you need to change the intake manifold gaskets. Be sure to get the improved gaskets from the parts store (they have a metal core with rubber coating).

GM has a problem with the intake manifold gaskets leaking coolant useually external but can leak internal also. Check at the corners of the intake manifold where the manifold meets the heads. If you see green or orange drops of coolant or a slimmy build up than the intake manifold gasket is leaking. Idf the leak has been ongoing for some time and the engine has overheatedI would also look at a head gasket, warpped head or even a cracked head as a source of the problem. Yes it is possible it could just be the intake manifold and you would have to remove the intake manifold to get to the heads so either way you need to pull the intake off when you do then you will know if it is the intake manifold gaskets by inspecting the gaskets if they are bad then you will not need to pull the heads but if they look ok by visually inspecting them then you will need to go further and pull the heads so not pulling the intake manifold is not an option it has to come off anyway.
You may have a lower intake manifold gasket leak (or a head gasket leak-slightly less probable) the lower intake can leak onto the serpentine belt and fling oil (and/or antifreeze). The lower intake manifold gasket is usually the culprit here. There is much information about changing it if you are inclined to do it yourself. If not, expect around 800 to 1200 to fix at dealer/mechanic. This is usually accompanied by (but not always) oil in the antifreeze, or antifreeze in the oil...
