Any reaction from the power window motor, say touching the switch, will the window try to move at all? If no reaction felt, usually the problem is the switch itself (very common on New Beetles). I have a 2005 convertible that had same symptoms and the switch replaced 3 times before guaranty expiration.

The door panel has 2 small screws at the very bottom of interior panel, another 2 screws behind the pull handle<will need to be pryed apart at the seams of the pull handle, then pull out on panel to release several push clips around the panel then once panel is loose you will need to reach around the panel and disconect latch handle and electrical connectors.

Where are the fuses to unlock the and windows in a vw beetle2000

The fuse block that contains the window fuses is located at the left side of the dash board. Open the door and remove the cover. There should be a diagram in your owners manual, and may be one on the inside of the cover.

When you open the driver's side door, it is located on the side of the dash. Just pry the cover off with a screw driver. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Check the wires on the driver's door between the door and the post. A break in a wire will affect the passenger side.

Something is wrong, are they using vw parts, the head light has to have a bad ground or short somewhere to keep blowing bulbs or water is entering lens, the rest of the light need to be diagnosed, maybe you need to take to dealer or another dealer, good luck.

Clear fluid leaking from the front right side of a 2000 vw beetl

Could be brake fluid, so look at the brake fluid resevoir.
Could also be water from the evaporator, from the air conditioner.
Is it oily to the touch?

Posted as a 2000 VW Beetle, but the fuse panel should be located on the side of the dash just inside the driver's door. There should also be a fiuse diagram on the fuse door panel, as well as in the back of the Owner's Manual.

VW 2000 New Beetle door sensor/car alarm goes off when doors open.

I found a thread - http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1542461 that details the repair of the soldering on the key lock door module. Our 2000 new beetle had the same issue. Also sometimes it refused to start. Soldering pins fixed it all.

Also see http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1015107 for releasing window from track, And door handle from inner panel.

I ripped the door apart and re-solderd the pins. I only had one pin with cracked solder but two others looked thin so I did them while I was in there. It's about a four or five hour project if you have all the tools. (8mm triple square also called an 8mm internal was the hardest to find - Also needed Torx T8 T10 T15 and T30 plus Philips Screw Driver. )
Project is difficult but not too bad for the mechanically inclined. A 7 on a scale of 10.
Since re-soldering pins - no more issues! My guess is that a VW dealer would get $200 for a new moduel plus 5 hours of service time for this gig - easily a $500 to $1000 bill. My cost - several new tools - about $25.00.

Emergency latch for gas cap 2000 VW Beetle, where is it?

From the manual:
  • Open the rear lid.
  • Open the cover on the backside of the luggage compartment. To open the cover, turn the two "quick-releases" and fold the cover down.
  • Reach through the opening by the fuel filler flap. Grab the cable with th plastic covering and pull down. The filler flap will open by itself.
Best of luck!
