Cap just keeps "clicking" and won't come off!!!!

Very commen probelm on the Focus. You will have to pull it off and replace the cap. Yes I know it doesnt want to come off but you will need to basically break it off and get a new on to go in its place. The hooks for some reason melt in the cover and then you cannot turn it off .

measure across the opening . then find a piece of steel about that size and Jam it down in the hole , use an adjustable wrench to see if it will unscrew the piece out .Or take it to a FORD dealer and have them replace it

Depends on what engine you have.
2.0 HP Zetec SVT Focus 5W-30 motor oil all others 5W-20 motor oil.

My 2000 ford windstar...oil cap is stuck and wont come off... cap just keeps turning, what do i do?


go purchase a new oil cap the take channel locks to break off the old oil caps top part of it. Then the screwed in part can be removed next

Some oil caps are like prescription bottles. Push down slightly and turn the cap counter clockwise.

My daughter is too far away and needs oil in her ford focus and if I'm not there I can't help. Can you give me some instructions for her?


you just look at the dip stick ,give it a wipe then check again if it needs oil take the filler cap off and put some in any engine oil do as long as its got oil it will be fine ,from the bottom mark to the top mark is about a litre of oil.

Bust off top of cap and use a pair of channel lock to remove cap and buy a new one at autozone $10.Make life easier for yourself !!!!

No it sounds like your water pump bearing has worn causing the leak.Change the water pump.

Ford ka engin oil


You really need an inspection pit as the car needs to be level. Unscrew filler cap from front face of gearbox ( carefull though as there is a blanking cap as well and it is the one furthest from engine) The oil level should be between 5mm and 10mm below bottom edge of filler plug)
