Question about 1999 Audi A6

I got audi a6 2.8 lit. The engine misfires especially on low revs on 1st and 2nd gear. When revs increase misfire decreases. I have changed spark plugs and leads. Tested in audi preston diagnostics - no fault. It also has LPG system. Scanned LPG system - no fault. Can you help me?

    I would check the coil pack on the vehilice and also get someone to scope to Ht system, it could also be a fuel injector breaking down

I have a 1999 A6 2.8, and my car was doing the same thing. However, after spending about a $1,000.00 I took it to another dealership. they replaced the fuel filter, it was dirty from putting cheap 91 gas in the car. Once it was replaced the car ran like new. I had to replace it around 80,000 miles. Hope this helps

I have a 1990 Ford f 250 4.9 inline 6 misfires/skips at high rpm I've only noticed it in 2nd gear always does it at high rpm right before I change into 3rd


run the fault codes
as you can achieve naerly full rpms in 2nd gear it is possible that the misfire is from low fuel pressure in the fuel manifold
could be a venting problem in the EVAC system, filter fault, pump failure and pressure regulator problem
I doubt that it would be a ignition area problem as it would occur in 1st as well as other gears

code p0303 refers to cyl 3 misfire detected ===causes engine mechanical fault--wiring--ignition/fuel system--injector--ECT/MAF sensor--ECM
code p0316 refers to misfire detected during start up --first 1000 revs===causes --engine mechanical fault--wiring--ignition/furl system--injector
the common fault cause is ignition/ fuel system and injectors so I would be checking fuel pressure and injector systems for clean and wiring connections are good especially on no 3 injector.

For car not changing gears it can be shifter assembly issue, or it can also be transmission issue. Get the shifter assembly inspected with ignition OFF.

Car not starting or turning over indicates towards multiple possibilities. It can be issue with battery or weak battery. But if battery checks out ok, then it can be starter issue or faulty alternator or problem with low fuel pressure or no spark at spark plugs due to dirty spark plugs or faulty ignition coil or injectors getting cracked or dirty and needs to be cleaned.

ENGINE MISFIRE

There are few possibilities that can cause engine misfire issues. It can be issue with spark plugs or faulty spark plugs. Also get the compression test done for cylinders. If any of cylinder shows low compression then required, then that particular cylinder will cause misfire.

Also get obd codes scanned, the error code will let you know which cylinder is misfiring or all cylinders are misfiring.

2000 nissan sentra manual transmission 1st and 2nd gear misfiring....


Sounds like you have a major misfire problem. The light is flashing because the ecm has determined that the problem is severe enough to cause damage to something. If your engine light flashes it is a warning not to drive the vehicle. I'm assuming this is a four cylinder. My guess would be that only two of the cylinders are actually producing any power. I would need the following details to help you further. How many miles are on this engine? Has the necessary factory maintenance schedule been maintained? In other words have the appropriate parts been changed and serviced to keep this engine performing properly. Many things could be causing your issues. Do the necessary maintenance first, like spark plugs and whatever the manufacturer requires and see what happens. If this does not help I can help you with the rest.

Misfire could be a number of things:
a) spark plugs - change them if used over 15K miles - inspect/regap.
b) spark plug wires - change them if over 15K miles - inspect
c) ECM (electronic control module) - test with HEI (high energy ignition) tester.

The vibrating tells me that the engine is running on less than its normal compliment of cylinders - the shaking is produced by the imbalance caused in the engine by one (or more) cylinder(s)
not firing at all.

The "Check Engine" light probably is coming on due the the misfire condition. Go to Pep Boys or
Advance Auto Pats, where they'll tell you (free) your codes causing the "Check Engine' light to be
lit - the code coming from your truck's computer will probably be one or more of:
P0300 - Random/Multiple Cylinder misfire detected
P0301 - Cylinder 1 misfire detected
P0302 - Cylinder 2 misfire detected
P0303 - Cylinder 3 misfire detected
P0304 - Cylinder 4 misfire detected
P0305 - Cylinder 5 misfire detected
P0306 - Cylinder 6 misfire detected
P0307 - Cylinder 7 misfire detected
P0308 - Cylinder 8 misfire detected
P0313 - Misfire detected with low fuel

I have a 1997 audi a4 1.8t and its running very rough with the check engine light flashing. the problem code is P0302 which means the 2nd cylinder is misfiring and I have replaced the spark plugs and the...


The power output stage hi and low (basically the ignition module) this is what powers the coil and can cause misfiring if not working properly.
This is located by the computer (e-box) it has 4 plugs, 2 on one side and 2 on the other.
Other possible issue for misfire are: loss of compression bad injectors electrical problems bad ECU

My 2004 audi s4 makes gronchy noise when i put it in to 2nd gear when cold whats causing it?


If I've understood your problem correctly.....when changing from 1st gear into second the box is giving a metal on metal crunching sound?
  • This would be the syncromesh ring which is not equalizing the speed correctly.
  • The problem usually happens when there is wear on the same part.
  • Check to make sure that the correct transmission fluid has been used in the box.
  • To alleviate the problem and delay the time when it will require attention, use the double de- clutch method of changing gears, especially when the transmission is cold.
  • The double de-clutch is carried out in the following way.
  1. When in gear and changing from 1st gear to 2nd, change into neutral and release the clutch and then depress again before selecting 2nd gear....It is not required to rev the engine in the neutral position when changing up....
  2. When changing down rev the engine when the shift lever is in neutral for each change.
You'll soon get the hang of it and stop the crunching sound, protecting the box at the same time....

I am experiencing power loss from my 2.0tdi 140 A4. seems like massive turbo lag. Started with juddering at low revs in 1st & 2nd gear, then complete loss of power. Starts ok & idles but no pulling...


these vehicles are known for ignition coil failure. typical symptoms include: Misfire, power loss, vibrating engine, poor fuel consumption. If the vehicle's engine vibrates, it be misfiring. Is your chk engine light on???
