My sub wagon 4 cl has transmission delay when I push on the gas
When i push on the gas I get a delay in acceleration, the rpm go up to 5-6 then it accelerates. Some times it's up to a 2 second delay which is very dangerous. I'm not a lead foot but when I go to pass at highway speed it sometimes shifts down to maybe 2nd gear. Seems out of control, it also shifts up and down at about 40 mph. I always have to play w/the gas. Hills are a major problem.

If your transmission is an automatic, it sounds like the torque converter is locked. It could besomething as simple as a bad solenoid. You need to get it to a shop and have the computer scanned to see if the solenoids have triggered a trouble code. Also, check your transmission fluid while the engine is hot and running.
Two symptoms here Keith, and I just had this, same car year and model. The pedal could either be a bit loose, check the cable and throtle. Have someone check, when the cars in neutral, they manually rev it, and watch the RPM's. They should go 3-4 as normal. If this is the case, and its not the cable or pedal, REPLACE spark plug cables and wires. Odd, but that was the fix to mine. Hope it helps.
its something called the transmission control unit, first it start with delaying in shifting, then when you shift to revers and push the gas you hear a bang sound and the car battles to revers, it costs around 1500$
The main relay also controls the transmission and will cause an intermittent interruption of power and indicates its going bad. about a $60.00 replacement cost. the relay is located under left side of dash.
