Question about 2003 Renault Sportwagon
A couple of weeks ago, my SERV light and air bag light came on. It kept going on and off and then stayed on. I took it in for a safety check and now the lights don't turn on automatically anymore - I have to do it manually. Is it worth taking it back to the garage and asking them to sort it or can I do it myself.
It's going in on Wednesday to get all the problems from the safety check sorted (new cam belt and ARB thingys) I just don't want this costing me a fortune as it's already costing me £250 for the cam belt and ARB things (+VAT and labour)
It seems like the air bag light is a common problem but was hoping I don't need a new sensor as it worked fine before and the wipers seem to be working ok too.
For the lights to work when the engine is off turn them on and off a couple of times and then you should hear a beep and that will mean the automatic lights are activated and you do the same to deactivate it.
plus if you hold the door locking button on the centre console for a few seconds it should beep and it will lock the doors automatically from the outside when you set off and go past 5mph you can turn this off by doing the same also
