Oil light always on.Oil pump and oil switch changed still the same.

Hi, Im AL the owner of Big As Auto Repair.

The first thing to do is check the oil pressure and if you DO NOT have oil pressure then this tells you that you have an internal engine problem. BUT, if you do have good oil pressure then this tells you that its an electrical issue. If it is an electrical issue it could be the wiring shorted or grounding out somewhere. It could be the instrument cluster shorted. It could be the engine controller keeping the light on. Check the oil pressure first, remove the oil pressure switch and hook up a oil pressure gauge start the engine and see if you have oil pressure. Hope this helps and please visit my auto-repair-website at:

Ford ikon 2007 1.6 wount start. when ignition key turned to start oil light go's out but then nothing

cud be so many things with used--likely the electrical--make sure batt is 12.6v always-any less and theres issues--check all fuses for life--inspect for bad wiring and corrosion--cud be a bad ignition switch or lock on steering colum----leave key in start for 10 or mor minutes then try it--its a way of reseting security-criminals usually wont wait that long--a module in the system cud also be at issue----get cat scanned with pro equipment to pinpoint

I think the headgasket is bad. it will turn over and everything but just wont start. i was push starting it for about 3 days because the alternator was going out. the last time i tried to drive it right as...

without a good look i dont think i could help as yes iam a europeon mechanic but a VW is a common enough vehicle here but iam thinking cam belt here but ?? yes it could be head gasket as the oil light switch is on the head top back left side and if the gasket has failed then it could be pumping oil into piston and not going up to the head to put the oil light out ,I would strongly advise you ask a local mechanic to put his head under the bonnet and give a second opinion from on the job .

Hi and welcome to FixYa!

As a first course of action, I strongly suggest that you tighten the ground battery connector of the car. If the ground connector is secured and the problem still persists, please add another body ground. For example, putting an electrical cable from any part of the engine to the body. This is one example of body ground.

Hope you find this information helpful enough and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

Oil pressure at 0 on 2005 trailblazer

It sure sounds like the oil sending unit is at fault, now sometimes, not always, the oil sending unit will seep oil or leak oil if they go bad,but like I said, not always, change the unit, and the oil and filter just for precaution.
