Just use them on manual, sounds like a whole lot of cash to fix.i took one of these for its inspection last week and not impressed ,as steering is a box and not rack and pinion and it was wandering ,so ancient to drive compared to a range rover and as for the hand brake ?? a handbrake should lock up the back wheels at 30mph or so i was taught 40 yrs ago,Well as for petrol consumption it needed a bigger tank to go more than 200 miles i think ,it just drank it the only one that likes this sort of thing are the oil producers. Not impressed at all with it ,big ,gross and thirsty but it was comfy

Why when the ignition is off on my 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee do the headlights inadvertently come on & stay on for 10 to 30 seconds?

I used to leave my headlight switch in "Auto" mode - and found that after awhile, my headlights would do the same thing. I think there may have been some corrosion in the switch. I stopped using the "Auto" mode and this resolved the problem

I have a 96' jeep grand cherokee laredo the head light switch in it is w/o fog lamp and w/o auto headlight can i switch it to one that has auto headlaight

r u trying to figure out if you install the auto headlight switch that you will have auto headlights, of just if the different switch will work period? there is probably a module required to make auto headlamps work, not just a switch. I would probably just find the correct switch for the truck to avoid any issues

My 1996 jeep cherokee headlamps turn off and on on 5 second intervals. what could be the solution

I'm going to post this in the clarification section. I don't have a wiring diagram for a 96 Grand Cherokee headlight circuit.
The 95 models used a circuit breaker built-into the headlight switch. The 97 models used a fuse in the fuse box. If your model uses the headlight circuit breaker, a short in one of the headlights or the wiring harness would trip the circuit breaker in the switch. You could unplug one headlight at a time to see if it continues to go on and off.

1997 jeep cherokee headlights quit working at the same time and will not come back on.

check the position of the automatic headlights switch. If it is placed in the auto position and the road becomes lit then the lights will go off automatically. Before condemning the switch try placing in it on the other positions. If the switch works fine, try checking the headlights relay, there are two relays (one is for the automatic headlights)

96 jeep cherokee headlights

The headlights are on a relay and maybe its getting weak. I would have it checked and replaced because it could go out and stay out.
God Bless Greg
Oh yeah most of the time it is built into the head light switch.
