I do not power to my syliniod when I turn the key, but if I put a jumper wire to the syliniod it will crank.

Usually when this happens its because of a lose or faulty positive battery post wire. i would run a check on this.i would also make sure the wire connected to the starter is nice and tight. if the problem still persist, its your ignition switch itself.

If the solenoid is old, it may as well be your main issue.

Need to know how to wire ignition to sylinoid for 89 ford mustang

Nothing to it. The starter position of the ignition switch simply has a single wire to the small lead on the starter solenoid.
I believe the solenoid looks like this:
Most cars put the solenoid on the starter itself, but Ford usually mounts it on the fender.

No juice to the starter on a 2000 dodge neon, won't crank or start , can jump the starter across, but when you turn the key power but won't start.

Check the neutral safety switch,if it is good, replace the ignition switch,if all the fuses are good, please vote, thank you

Acura 1998 2.5 has starting problems. I swapped two batteries and it still has intermident starting failures. I keep turning the switch on and off and after a few minutes of doing this, it starts. What is...

does it turn over? or just make a click sound.. if it makes a click that could be your starter.

If it does turn over but not start could be your ignition ie Dis cap, rotor, plug wires, sylinoid

Truck wont start at the starter switch sometimes. I turn the key and nothing happens. I can go to the sylinoid (bad spelling) and start it with a screw driver

Probably a bad ignition key contact (worn out).
You can hook a pushbutton across the + to key wire terminal... the start it like an old fashened car (turn on the key and push the starter button....when the ignition contact fails to "make".

Truck wont start no power to sylinoid

The starter may have failed. you can have the starter checked by removing it . then with jumper cables connect the ground to the starter body. Then hit the main cable (positive ) connection . It should turn fast. If it is slow and sluggish or does not do anything. The starter went bad.
