Re: My security remote dose not work
Hello, It seems as is if you have a remote that will not lock the doors all the time. There can be a couple of reasons that it wont work at times.1 it may have a weak battery,2 there may be some kind of residue inside the key fob itself such as tea, coke, water, or even sweat. This will short the fob out at times.Thank you

This usually works.Lock the doors with the remote.Press lock twice sounding the alarm. Then press the unlock button twice.Your car should start now.If that doesnt work try this,Lock the car again with the remote once.Go over to the passenger side door and use the key to unlock the door then press in the door unlock all doors.Hopefully by now it worked. Now if none of these work your security probably malfunctioned and theres only two things that will work,One is disconnecting the battery for 5 mins then reconnecting.unlock doors.the start. If that doesnt work you'll have to take it to the dealer to get the security reset or replaced. The steps I have wrot you are the diagnostics to reset it.I hope these work for you and good luck.See ya had have a great day..
There is 3 relays in one of the fuse panels that are labeled doorlocks one of them is probably bad. Push the door lock button and find the one that is clicking this is the one that is back. This should fix your problem
Firstly, open your glove box and make sure Valet Mode is not enabled, if it is not, follow these steps.
Step 1: Open drivers door and leave open. Step 2: Lock and unlock the driver’s door using the power door lock switch on the door. Step 3: Insert key into the ignition. Step
4: Turn key to on position and return to off position. (IMPORTANT - use
ON position NOT ACC position). Do this 3 times within 10 seconds. Leave
key in the ignition. Step 5: Open and close the driver’s door 3 times. (Door should be left open after this step). Step 6: ECU should respond by locking and unlocking the doors. Step 7: Press any button on remote #1 twice. ECU responds by locking and unlocking the car doors. Step 8: Press any button on remote #2 (etc.) twice. Each time the ECU will respond by locking & unlocking the doors. Step
9: Remove the key from the ignition and the ECU will respond a final
time with a series of door locks and unlocks. You're done!
check to see if your "interior cabin lights" fuse isnt blown it is a 15amp fuse one of the top two rows in your fuse box. i have a 2002 A4 avant and when that fuse blows my security beep doesnt make any sound but the doors lock.
Probably the door actuator - a part inside the door that activates the lock, particularly if neither the interior lock switch or the remote do not lock the door. Once the doors lock the horn will beep again - the lack of beep indicates the vehicle is not secure.
