No rear heat

When i turn on the heat in the front of my 2001 dodge durango it blows out beautiful heat, but when I turn it on in the rear, it blows out only cold. even when it's turned up as hot as it goes in the back it's still only blowing out cold air... Why is this?? and what can I do?

I have the same problem. Dealer investigated (Charged me ~$100 to pull the rear shrouding to get to blower/vent assy) and said there is a door in the vent that changes flow of air from hot to cold. Said that the vent door connection was broken and that only way to fix was to replace complete unit at ~$700. Dealer also said this is a common occurrence and that connector breakage is common.

The rear vent system has a separate heater core/blower system. heater core could be plugged up or the coolant lines going to rear heater core are plugged. could also be low coolant/faulty water pump not producing enough pressure, or air in the cooling system which will need to be bled if so.

Dodge durango 2001 fogging up windows not defrosting

It's most likely your heater core that is causing the problem it could be leaking either from the core it's self causing anti freeze to get into your vents or from one of the hoses leading to it.....I am assuming that when your heat is on there is a dampness in the air this is what is causing the windows to fog up.

MY REAR HEAT WANT BLOW NOTHING BUT COLD AIR OUT WHY IS THAT & HOW DO I FIX IT

Its supposed to blow out only cold air. I wondered the same thing when I purchased my 2001 durango and then I read the owners manual and it says it is only supposed to blow cold air out in the rear of the vehicle.
