Re: Where is the O2 sensor located on a 2002 Sportage?
It should be located on the exhaust blow the exhaust manifold. on this year car you may have two O2 sensors an upstream located before the catalytic converter and a downstream located after the converter. hope this helps

The knock sensor is located on the right side of the engine (passenger side) if looking from drivers seat, here is a diagram to help you locate the sensor and also enclosed is a picture of the sensor. hope this is helpful, good day.
Take a 7/8" or 22mm wrench and remove counterclockwise, but unplug before removing. Do the opposite to install O2sensor. Some require special sockets to remove due to where the o2 sensor is located. O2 sensors are located on the exhaust near the exhaust manifold before the catalytic converter and just after the catalytic converter.
Ok I think you meant code P0171, this means the fuel trim is always lean, you need to check for a engine vacum leak, maybe a cut or damaged PCV hose or any other hose that is in the vaccum system, I have read other Kia owners (Kia Forums, you should join one) reports of this same code, most found it not to be the O2 sensor but a vacuum leak.
