Check all fuses in dash as well as under hood in power distribution box, usually near battery.

How to determine if a window switch is bad or if the relay is bad. Are there seperate relays for the up and down functions?

There will be three wires to the switch. with a tester, determine which is hot and jump to one lead then the other. If the switch is bad the window will operate. murf427

1996 1500 chevy Z71 ,350 engine. Everything works electronic except when you turn key on it won't crank

First try getting a boost. It could be just a low battery. The starter takes much more power than everything else together. If you have already tried that, or it doesn't help, try shorting out the starter with a screwdriver. If it works , your ignition switch could be faulty, or the neutral switch for the shiter.

2002 power window dodge caravan pass side window wont go up or down. works w/ the main dr side control. where would the fuse be for this component? any other thoughts to fix this cheaply

The only problem with this vehicle is that it needs a new window switch on the passenger side door.If the main switch on the drivers door works and the one on the door that the window won't go up on won't work it replace the switch on that door they all work on the same fuse.

Have you tried replacing the master window switch? Just because the other windows work doesnt mean that switch for that window is good.

The main switch is controled by the drivers door main unit.....i had to use a forward force on my windows switch for it to work....so replaced the whole unit, you could find those on ebay cheap if local auto parts is expensive

2004. all windows stopped working, regulators, fuses, and master switch are all good. what could it be??!?

Im assumed the regulator inspected and not gummed up and the wire is not off track or looks like a bird nest; motors are good and tested along with the main driver doors switch, fuse and relay check out, are you getting power to the dash light when the key ignition is turn on? if yes, than you have a short somewhere, if no, check ignitions switch, its also work like a master switch. sometime ignition switch get worned and loose its contact. If there is power to the dash than you going to have to narrow it down. when the key is on position, check using a volt meter to see if you getting any power to the main switch if not that you problems. if you do than you will need to test the main/master switch to see if its sending any power to the regulator by, holding the master driver window down and test the power line to the front door regulator to see if there any power coming from the master switch. if yes than it a motor to the regulator is faulty, its not common for all motor to fail at the same time. hope that help a bit

My mechanic (who is very good) is stumped as to why my power windows do not work on my 79 Formula. He has a wiring diagram 70? to 81 , he is a master mechanic. The circuit breaker on the fuse box is fine,...

I'm not sure if I read this right:
everything up to all connection the outside of the switch is working fine, except the switch.

If this is the case the switch is bad. Inside the switch there are some some balls and Spring loaded for positioning, but it also has surface contacts. Overtime it got corroded or dirty preventing from good electrical conductions. Hope this can help?
