Question about 1998 Mercury Tracer
Replaced egr valve, egr pressure sensor & egr vacuum solenoid all on recommendation from staff at autozone. Cleared service engine light each time, but after about 20 miles, sometimes less, it comes back on. Can you get around this somehow? My registration was up in Aug 08 & now I need this car because the fuel pump in my burb went out. I thought this would be the easiest & cheapest one to fix. Maybe not!
Late suggestion; it may be that the code needs to be reset via a code reader and that the problem will remain in memory until forcibly removed. That is fairly common.
