Question about 1998 Chevrolet S-10 Pickup
Hello, My name is Matthew Pounds and I have had this problem at least four times. The first time is when I went to visit my fianc'e in GA. It all went up there fine; I had no problem with it before then... But anways. I went to GA and didin't run it for about 2 days while i was up there. When i crunk it the morning I was going to head home, it crunk up fine... I moved out of theway of here step mom's car and turned it off.. I DID NOT LEAVE ANYTHING ON!... I go out there three hours later and i turn my key and it makes this clicking sound and i t keeps clicking like a million times a minute. Well I had her jump me off and it crunk fine. But, my lights would flicker and it would get worse and worse everyday. I didnt know what to do. So. I had my moms bf look at it.. he said that it could be my battery or my alternator. Well he took the positive off while it was running to see if it was the alternator... well.. it wasnt.. because it kept running. Well.. we noticed that it was the postivie cable that was loose. I felt like an idiot.. well . I had no idea that that was the ONLY problem. So he tightened it and everything was fine.... Well.. I just recently... (Matter of fact.. today is the day that i got back) took a trip to florida... well i had t o drive my truck up to GA because we were going to take her car.... and i left it at her house for about 5 days. Well.. i thought everything would be fine since we tightened the postive.... NO!!!! IT happened again after i crunk it up and drove it a lil bit!. And also.. the truck.. when i crunk it up..... shook incredibly fast.. but i just figure that it was just a cold start. I have already replaced the radiator. THe cadalic converter... the 0'2 sensor... the mass sensor.... and the started.... i don't know what to do but I do know that I am tired of this stuff happening.. Please someone help me. oh and if its obvious.. i think the problem might be the battery but i want to be absolutely sure before i go out and spend 70 bucks on a new battery!
Could be a bad ground cable,or a bad connection wher the ground cable goes to the car not the battery. hope this helps.
