93 grand cherokee, when i start the car it wont stay on it will shuutdown unless i press the accelerator, when the car is on for a while it stays put when its on neutral or park, but when on drive it shakes the whole car!!

Check wires, cap , rotor and coil...Just a quick guess, but it sounds like a classic ignition misfire. (of course because I said this it will turn out to be a left rear taillight bulb...just having that kind of week!!)Seriously, that's where I'd begin looking!

Oil pressure guage pegs out when I accelerate--WHY

Check wiring to sensor on motor clean or replace.If that is OK.then consider: older high mileage cars will start to ware their bearing and causing more back pressure under load, you may have to live with it. Unless you what to rebuild motor.

It sounds like the torque converter is locked up. Possible a bad torque converter or converter solenoid. First thing you should try is unplugging the solenoid plug on the transmission. Drivers side, near the shifter. Not the three pin connector near the pan on the same side. The connector you want is higher than the reverse light plug.

try pulling the plug out on the idle air control valve then start it if thats not it try the map then the idle control
