Are you even sure it was the fuel pump to begin with?
All electric fuel pumps shut off after the key is turned on in just a few seconds. It will only run as long as the car is running. So it makes me think that the fuel pump was ok to begin with. You probably need to change the ignition module. Its the flat thing that the wires plug into on the side of distributor. Let me know what happens

I drove my car worked find and when i went to start again it would start but turn over?

So the engine does crank over? If so, turn key to on and listen for the fuel pump to buzz on for a couple of seconds. If the pump is working, you should hear it come on when key is ON. You may need to stand by the tank when someone turns key to on. It will only come on for a couple of seconds to prime the fuel system, then shut off if the car is not cranked. If you don't hear that familiar buzz from the rear, then suspect a failed pump, but the wiring to it will need to be checked before condemning the pump.
If you do hear the pump coming on, then the fuel system is at least getting gas to the engine, suspect an ignition problem. Begin ignition diagnosis by checking for spark at a plug wire.
Good luck.

Engine stalls, then runs after pressing accelerator

If you were low on gas at the time, it could have shifted the fuel in the tank when you turned. The engine can stall for a couple of seconds and then restart as the fuel pump primes again.

I have a 1989 iroc camero that will not has a throttle body carb and is a 305.the fuel pump works fine.the car will start if you prime it,but otherwise it wont fire at has power on one wire...

Although you Say the Fuel Pump is Fine, What you Discribe is A NO FUEL Problem If it Starts When Priming and Does Not Without Prime this IS a Fuel Pump Problem NOTE: If you HEAR the Fuel Pump this only Indicates that the MOTOR that Drives the Fuel Pump Works , A Fuel Puessure Test Will Determine if your Fuel Pump In FACT DOES Work.

Have a 98 gmc 5.7 truck have to prime to start truck.

Sounds to me like either your pressure regulator is bad or you have a loose fitting somewhere in the fuel line from the fuel pump to the engine. When you turn your key to the on position, you should hear the whine of the fuel pump until it builds pressure. When you shut the truck off the pressure regulator should retain the pressure for a certain amount of time but if it don't close then air is allowed into the fuel line and the fuel drains down to fuel line away from the engine. Next time you try and start the truck after it has sat for a while try turning the key on until you hear the fuel pump whine shut off, then repeat it 3-5 times and then try to start it. Basically that is running the pump enough to get the fuel back up to the injectors. Check for loose fittings in the fuel line, or cracks in the fuel line and if all that is fine then replace the regulator.

Hope that helps
