Question about 2000 Daewoo Leganza

Shifter Linkage Adjustment Daewoo 5 Speed

The instructions for setting the linkage on my Daewoo Leganza 5 speed require that I use a ''5 mm (0.2 inch) gauge pin'' in several ''adjustment holes'' in order to set it properly.

Any suggestions on who might sell these at a reasonable price. I don't want a set, since I'll probably never use them again.

FYI - I've done the google search, jcwhittney, northerntool and all of the usual suspects.

I considered that. I guess I could measure the "diagonal" across the hex to see if that's 5 mm or if its the flat side to flat side measurement.

    More good ideas. Thanks

HOW DO I TROUBLE SHOOT A 2001 DAEWOO LEGANZA AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION THAT WILL NOT GO INTO GEAR?

Well, if it is full of fluid, and the shifter is moving the transmission linkage then I would think that there is an internal issue with the transmission.

5 speed trans 96 tacoma jumping out of gear 1st through 4th gears when you let off the gas

Hi there,

This commonly occurs when either the Shift Linkage is faulty (or simiply needs adjustment), Shifter Fork is loose, or there is excessive movement of the Input Shaft.

Adjusting the shift linkage would be your first task. If this doesn't correct the problem, then you will need to investigate the other 2 components as suggested above.

Cheers,

If you are writing about the shifter linkage, go to ebay and find yourself a saturn shifter repair kit.
this is a common problem, and you can do it yourself if you can get the console out. kit is less than 20 bucks.

This is a 1987 325i convertible, with a manual 5 speed. The problem is, that it pops out of first gear, when starting at a dead stop. It will stay in gear, if it is moving at all. So you can start in...

Generally when you have a problem with your car 'popping' out of a gear, it the shifter linkage. Shift linkage has a lot to do with the transmission. I recommend going to a shop you trust and asking them to check the shift linkage and adjust if needed. If that doesn't fix it, its your tranny and that will be expensive.

That does sound like a linkage adjustment problem.

If that does not work, I'd try a fluid change and filter. But your diagnostics with pulling on the gear shifter is a pretty good indication of a linkage problem.

Shifter linkage will not align on 97 200sx with standard tranny

you may have the wrong transmission type. the shifters are sort of universal on those cars. like the 5 speed can fit the se or se-r.

if memmory serves me correct its been a while since last tranny rebuild and adjustment
on a 700-r4 type transmission
make sure that the shim kit was used properly with this transmission cause wrong sized length of linkage can make the trans. shift improperly
you have the linkage under neith adjusted wrong the shift bar on tranny should face 90 degrees up towards front of vehicle engine for proper adjustment
