1989 mercedes 190e blower motor and vents not working properly

I am having trouble with my 1989 mercedes 190e blower motor shutting off after a couple of minutes and the air vents are not changing according to the push button selection. If I turn the car off and wait a couple of minutes then restart the car the blower fan will work again for a couple of minutes but the air vents never change.

Probably two separate problems.
For the blower motor, it may be that the bearings are getting old and so the motor is getting harder to turn and overheating. A way to check is to take the motor out (it will be tucked in behind the glovebox. Pour a tablespoon of motor oil into the vents next to the shaft and work it back and forth to loosen it up. Then put the motor back in and try it. If I'm right, the motor will work normally again. However, this is only temporary--once the oil gets worn off the bearings in a while it will start quitting again. You should order a replacement before it blows your resistor block or (in the worst case) starts a fire. You can get them online, like from autopartswarehouse.com

The blower motor regulator which is under the blower motor is going bad when it overheats it shuts the motor off. The climate control unit (push button assembly) or vacuum pods are bad and that is why you vents are not moving. The mono vacuum blocks for the pods are on the passenger side behind the glove box.

There is a Blower Motor Relay in that system. It is located behind the center of the instrument panel, on connector i27.If it's not the faulty relay, then it is the blower motor .

The blower is controlled by the blower motor in the unit. The blower motor needs to be checked and replaced. The blower motor. The brushes are probably worn and the brushes, or the motor, needs to be replaced. It is located under the front cowl. Check out.Thanks.

2 problems. 1st is that when the air is on, the middle vents work perfectly but the side vents push hot air for some reason. whats the problem? 2nd is the stereo stopped working so what would be a good...

The vacuum pods are going out most likely, spendy fix. Go to crutchfield.com for radio solutions as they have MB wiring kits to bypass the fader for new stereos.

My air conditioning for my 1989 mercedes 190e 2.6 is not working

first the a/c issue is probably due to low charge. Need to recharge, if you still had R12 in there you need to have it updated to R134A or find someone who has R12 which is tough.
Starting issues are tough to explain without more info but if you mean your starter doesnt turn the motor I would suggest a new battery as you probably have a weak one or it has a bad cell. If your starter turns but it wont start could be the OVP relay, the cold start vale or any number of ignition parts from the coil to the plugs.

Could be strip fuse for blower motor, or brushes need replaced on motor, or your auto mode is working like intended and when it reaches its temp it slows down.

How do I replace the heater blower motor on a 1989 190e

Hello, The blower motor is located below the windshield wiper assembly. You have to remove the plastic cover that below the windshield then remove the wiper assembly, then you will see the blower housing. Remove the screws from the housing then remove housing cover. Look close because some of the screws are hard to see. Once you get the cover off, you will see the motor and there is a metal strap that holds it down. Take a punch or whatever and stick it in hole in the strap and push down. Then the motor will come out.
I hope this helps.
