Question about 1999 Pontiac Sunfire

1 Answer

Replaced battery now I get nothing

Took my old battery out of my 1999 Pontiac Sunfire about six weeks ago. I put in the new one today and got absolutely nothing. Is there some sort of reset needed after letting it sit this long?

If you are sure the "new" battery is truly a good one, then check your battery cable ends to see if corrosion is causing your problem. Also check your fuses.

Ok. my car 97 pontiac sunfire needed a new alternator output cable. guy put a new one on but apparently messed with something else and now its not starting. said the theft light came on and that it isnt...

Tell the guy to call the dealer and ask them how to override the anti theft system or reset it. when you disconnect the battery and lose power it kicks on the anti theft device and it won't get fire.

How to wire a starter in a pontiac grand prix

Double check your battery terminals and cables...make sure they are clean, corrosion-free and snug. If they're dirty or have a layer of corrosion, even a new battery will make your starter click (due to poor voltage to the starter). Get yourself a battery terminal cleaning brush and clean them real good and connect snugly.
