Question about 1999 GMC Suburban
I need to the test the mass air flow device on a '99 GMC surburban 5.7 liter votex, 1500, 4x4, with VIN: R. How do I do this with a multi-meter?

usually there is a diagram under the hood on the radiator core suport if not any napa that has michel can pull you one up on the computer

replace fuel filter first then test fuel pump with a rented fuel pump tester regulator test pressure while running then pull hose on the fuel pressure regulator see if the pressure goes up if it does then it does not need replacing you will need to replace then fuel pump and fuel sock, and if you ran it lower than 1/4 tank you may have over heated the pump.

Vin decoder available at www.ramchargercentral.com If that doesn't provide the info, then the members there can help you figure it out with nothing more than a photo or description of the truck.
If it's an 80's Dodge with an auto trans, then it is either a 727 (3 spd) or 518 (3 spd w/OD)...you'll know it's OD because there should be a button on the dash for it.
