Need to know where the flasher is

I would look for a fuse. A lot of flashers are controlled electronically anymore. Do any of the flashers work? Do the 4 way flashers work?

Need fuse for right side blinker

2001 Mercury Cougar 2.5L SFI HO 6cyl
Right Side Blinker or Turn Signal Lights work with FLASHERS; the Flasher is located top of the steering column, on the multifunction switch.

Hope this helped; good luck.

Some auto parts stores rent tools which you will need. A ball joint press is what you need to press them out

Turn signal stopped working 1990 Mercury Cougar

I had the same problem and the flasher is not located in the fuse box because it is not a normal flasher. the cougar has an electronic flasher unit that is located on the left side of the center console. the best and cheapest place to order a new one is amazon.com. they run about $30-$40

1997 mecury cougar v8 engine. Wont start. It is

Not sure if you got your cougar running or not, but I had a similar problem and it turned out to be my Crank shaft sensor. I replaced it myself, its fairly easy if you are the type that likes to pull stuff apart and fix it. The part cost about $20. you do have to move the ac compressor over but you don't have to remove it makes the job a lot easier. I am still running the 1997 cougar xr7 30th anniversary edition, it has 160000 miles on it and still running strong. I think these are the best cars mercury ever built, i hope they come out with them again in this body style and platform.
