Does the starter solenoid at least click? If not, then solenoid is the problem. If it does click, then could be starter, low battery, or something else we would walk through. Ford usually has a round starter solenoid on the fender near the starter, but not part of it. Fords also sometimes need to have the engine turned a bit by hand, to get it past a spot where the bendix binds.
STARTER SOLENOID IS ON STARTER.FORD ALSO HAD STARTER RELAY SWITCH ON BACK FIREWALL.FOLLOW THE BATTERY POSITIVE CABLE IT WILL TAKE YOU RIGHT TO STARTER SOLENOID OR RELAY.
never mind "A"join the club there keep taking the pills
take a screw driver and short out the battery wire to the small terminal on the starter this should spin the starter over and the engine at the same time if nothing happens the solenoid cap on the starter is faulty, you should here it click in to spin the motor up
if it clicks but still no go then its the starter motor its self likley to be brushes
Starter motor relay!
- not sure which one it is -
definitely sounds like starter relay tho.
if you disconnect the main wire from the starter and turn the key you will kear the relay clicking, find it and replace it...
should solve your problem.
take off starter take it to advance or autozone they will check it free.could be starter relay or starter if battery is good. replace battery cable if they have not been changed.
dodgy switch in a door pillar is the cause of the interior light staying on,engine needs new valve /solonoid for it to stop ,the rubber seal on the bottom has perished and you cant buy that on its own,its a complete unit about 70€ .fits on top of the injector pump under the antitheft shroud
is the earth cable giving a good engine and body contact.does your starter have two terminals and if so are they the right way around?is the battery any good?Is the engine able to be turned over by hand Make sure you have agood 12v supply to the starter solenoid when cranking the engine An engine test probe/light would be of a lot of use for you to do that test
DO U HERE A CLICK OR CLUNK FROM THE STARTER WHEN IT WON'T TURN OVER?
