PCV valve for 2004 Hona CRV

Could somone please tell me exactly where the PCV valve is on a 2004 Honda CRV? I've done an almost complete tune up on my vehicle ( minus the PCV valve).

PCV Valve Operation: PCV valve for 2004 Hona CRV - 0900823d80049deb.jpgA vacuum-controlled metering device that regulates the flow of crankcase fumes in the positive crankcase ventilation system by allowing more flow at high speed than at low speed, and acts as a system shutoff in case of engine backfire to prevent an explosion in the crankcase.
Depending on your engine size, the PCV is a different style and slightly different location.

Usually they are mounted in a hole on your valve cover.... connected by a vacuum tube.
Some are mounted with threads into the engine block (usually by the oil filter)

On the '04 Crv - it is nearly inaccessible behind the AC compressor and beneath what looks like an old vacuum advance. Most PCV valves today do not need to be replaced, unless there is actual valve failure, which I have not seen happen. I would not be concerned about replacing it.

Poor advice on not replacing the PCV valve. Dirty throttle bodies, dirty oil re-introduced back into the crank case and less efficient valves are all serious concerns, particularly if the oil isn't changed regularly.

I wouldn't go over 60K without replacling it

you could have bent valves but try fitting it on and start but if it does not then u ll have to take your cylinder head off (chances of bending the valves 90% and that is if u tried stating it or when it broke when the car was driving

The check engine light is flashing

Well, with tune up done, it could be ANY of the following. Low fuel pressure, no spark, bent intake or exhaust valve, bad oil rings, flat spot on cam shaft, now I don't know anything about "CRV" these are just possible causes on any gasoline engines. If I had more experince with these I might be able to tell you but I can't. Look online for your vechile recalls, I suggest consumerguide.com they'll have alot of recalls and other notices on your vechile if there is any.

I have a 2004 honda crv with random misfire

with a random missfire 99.9% of the time you just need to do a tune up. change fuel filter, spark plugs, wires and distributor cap and rotor button. this will fix your problem. If you have already done all this let me know and we will go from there.

What needs to be done at 100,000km service for Honda crv 1999

What I would do, if you haven't, yet is do a total tune up. Change the oil, oil filter, PCV valve, air filter, spark plugs and spark plug wires, timing belt, distributor, and recently I heard that adjusting the valves at that (100,000) point will also prolong the engines life, the timing belt and valve adjustments seem to be the hardest to do. This is what i did to my 1999 honda cr-v except the valve adjustment, Im not good enough to mess with that on my own. Doing it myself turned out pretty cheap, and easy, just time consuming. good luck!

Dumb question: where is the pcv valve

PCV Valve sits on one of the Valve Covers.

Side Question: Sounds kinda like a tune up is in order. Plugs wires fuel filter.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you need more help!

Sincerely,

JC
