Provided the vehicle has been serviced regulary and had good quality oil and filters, theres no reason the car shouldn't get 400,000+ kms. Check its service history, and its oil consumption.

it is possible that the battery is faulty, most batteries only have two years warranty, it might be a good idea to replace it anyway because it may not last much longer anyway......hope this helps......cheers

Hi there-I have a luxury turbo XT MY06 forester. I have it seviced every 6 months. I have had it since new. My dealership say it is TIME to replace the timing belt but I have only done 50,000 kms. Is time...

A Friend of mine had a Forrester and I'm sure he was told that the belt should be changed around 90 to 100K as a precaution. You don't want it breaking in the middle of no where. Apparently its a pretty expensive job. I would ring around a few Auto repair shops. 50K seems a bit early for such a job.

There are 225000 km on a used mercury cougar that i am interested in buying and i was wondering if with that amount of kms, is there much life left in it and are there any occuring problems that you have...

A vehicle with that many kms does not present a problem. It all has to do with how well the vehicle was maintained, are the kms more highway or city, and any all problems the previous owners had. The amount of kms does not determine the amount of time left. Perform the necessary maintenance (oil, filters, plugs and wires, etc) and the vehicle will last as long as properly maintained.
