Question about 1999 Dodge Avenger
The a/c only works at 2000 rpms and i dont know how to fix it is it a valve stuck open /closed and if so what does it look like and where is it.
You may be low on freon. Can you hear the a/c compressor clutch cycle on & off with the hood open? Start engine & listen without a/c on. Then have someone turn a/c on & listen for click of a/c clutch engaging. It should then cycle on and off about 4 times/minute at 70 degrees F.
If it cycles on & off more times/minute, likely low on freon. Have some put a gauge on it to see if pressure is normal. Not expensive to do that.
