Your blower motor relay switch is most likely your problem. Its a common problem with a wide range of vehicles. In your truck it should be located under the dash up behind the glove box. I work at a GM dealer in the service department, and I want to say they cost under $100.

Why does my fan turn on after the engine has been turned off?

Fans that cool today's engines are electric. The fans operate when the engine temperature rises above a certain point. When you shut your engine off and are no longer moving, air is not flowing through the radiator, but the engine is still hot. Fan goes on to keep the engine from overheating, it's normal.

if the engine is hot and no heat to cabin then heater core or shut valve is plugged feel the hoses going to the heater at firewall if one hose is hot then coolant isnt flowing to heater if both are hot then problem with vent flaps are not openeing heat door to allow air to flow over the core try that first

Heater fan not working . changed fuse and nothing Silverado 1500

you can test the motor with a multe tester with ohms capable, locate the heater motor and the wires feeding it there will be 2 find the plug and unplug it, using the tester probe the 2 wires with the red and black from the meter to the motor side, on ohms scale the meter should deflect close to full scale, with a digital it should read around 30 or have at least have a low number but no lower than 20 or so, if you get a reading your motor is probably OK, you can also use the meter in voltage mode and with the heater turned on you should read a voltage higher than 10 on the vehicular side of the plug, if there is no voltage there check to see if you have voltage at the heater fuse, if so than replace your fan control switch,,,good to go

2003 silverado blower fan stays on..

under the passenger side dash, right above floor board there is a wire connector. That connector is for your blower resistor. If you unhook it, the blower will stop running, hook it back up and you will have a blower. You can also remove the fuse. Point being you can use your truck. Order the new part and replace it. I can't remember how many wires went to it off hand, its rectangular, mayber 6-7or 8ish.

Heater problem

is your heater set on defrost this will cause your engine fan to run because it turns on the compressor for air conditioner this helps to extract moisture from your warm air defrost  and the fan in the engine compartment helps keep it the engine cool from the extra load on the engine this is normal
