Check under the passenger side dashboard, you should see 4 little screws holding a cover on. remoce the 4 screws and you will see the filter. i believe the screws are 5.5 or 7 mm hex heads

Where is the cabin air filter located?

you need to remove the CEM (fusebox under dash) and bracket then you can remove the cover for the pollen filter on the climate unit via th three 7mm head screws, bit of a pain.

Where is the pollen filter and how do i change it on a volvo s60 d5 2004

(2) remove the old cabin air filter. This is located under the glove box near the footwell light. You can get to the filter by removing the plastic covering under the glove box. This is held in by 2 torx screws. Remove this, and you've reached the CAF.

(3) slide out the old CAF.

(4) slide in the new one. Really, there's nothing more than that.

Have your blower motor resistor checked, this is the most likely solution.

CABIN AIR FILTER

Under the glove box.

Put the seat back all the way rearward (just to give you more room to move.

On the panel just directly below the glove box, there should be two Torx 25 screws. Remove those and pull that panel downward and rotate the right side back, that should release it from the kick panel on the left.

Now towards the back you should see the blower motor. Kind of an off white color and a black panel on the bottom of that.

It's held in with four gold colored Torx 25 screws. Remove those and the pollen filter should be in there.

If you have the thin pollen filter, you can get away with simply removing the two golden Torx 25 screws closest to you, carefully bend down the black plastic cover (carefully enough to squeeze the pollen filter past, I've seen people break them cause they do it too much).

If you have the thicker pollen filter, you have no choice but have to remove the four screws.
