Question about 2004 Pontiac Montana

I have a 2004 Pontiac Montana - last night I put down the passenger power window and now it will not roll back up - the driver's works so it's not the fuse.

I have a 1999 Pontiac Montana. The master switch on the driver's side will no longer roll either the passenger or driver window up or down. It started gradually getting slower and slower, and often I would have to work the switch back and forth to make it work at all. Now its completely dead. The passenger side window rolls up and down perfectly, however, if done from the passenger side switch? This is the second switch I have tried. The previous one was doing the same thing with being slow and intermittently not working, only it made clicking noises inside the switch itself as well. Any ideas what it may be?

It may be the motor, some times if you have the door open with the key on and hit with your fist the lower towards the front of the inside of the door panel it will jar the motor enough to allow it to go up. (hold the swith in the up position while you do this)

I had this problem recently. you can take the switch out of the door and carefully take it aprt, clean the contacts and reinstall. i had to do this on all my switches and they work fine now.

I have a 2004 pontiac montana the passenger side window will roll down but not up I ahve installed a new motor and new switch how do i fix this

The problem usually is a broken wire in the harness where the door is hinged. Opening and closing the door bends the wire back and forth and eventually breaks it.

Power window will go up but not down

This may be related to the BCM (body control module) it can be self tested to see if any faults are present.

That sounds like the switch is failing to me. Many times these switches get wet and or dirty which causes them to fail to make a proper contact. I have sprayed many of these switches with electrical contact cleaner and seen them work like new. I would try that first before replacing the switch.

Passenger side window

it could be a bad swich on the passenger side because they comunicate each other, or sometiems the wiring brake just by the door where all the wiring goes to the boddy you need to open the black hose with a nife and look for broken wiring circuits
