Wich door lock actuator is bad?

I've read your posting and determined I likely have a bad actuator on my 2003 E150 Ford Van. It keeps trying to lock while I drive. Since there are actuators on every lock, how does one which is the bad one, or is there a master actuator? Thanks.

When driving, all locks repeatedly lock over and over. I can unlock them using the switch, but they soon try again. Seem to be worse in rainy weather. Local shop says maybe a bad ground wire, but could not limit the time it might take to find it, especially since it is not happening all of the time. I like the switch suggestion. Seem to make sense and easiest thing to try first anyway. Thanks. Rob

there is no MASTER actuator, and I have never heard of this as a solution for this problem, the most common fix is a new driver door lock switch.

This is being caused by a loose neutral saftey switch, your truck auto locks when you put in in gear, it is loose or bad.
Good Luck.

The drivers side door lock will not actuate with the remote or the interior switch. The key will open and close the door. All other door locks function properly with remote and interior switch.

Suspect a defective door lock motor/actuator inside the door. The door will have to come apart to test for proper ground and power supply to determine if motor/actuator is bad.

E150 van overheats

You have to bleed the system. Not very likely an air lock, since air will come out of the fill bottle sooner or later. You can try removing the rad cap (when its cold) start it up. put heater on high, let it run and check for good coolant flow in the rad. Any trapped air will also come out.

The power locks will not lock at all but will unlock sometimes ford e150 year 1999

The door lock actuators are faulty from old age . They need replaced and run about $40.00 each. The master switch may be faulty also but you can not tell untill you put at least one new actuator in and try it.

Try Autozone if you already have the code(s) out of the computer. They will also do free scans of the computer if you don't have them. Good luck!

Need detailed diagram of 1998 latch mechanism to remove connections from it

there is no diagram... the latch is also a non-servicable latch, so if your problems in the latch- it needs a latch. i would look more closely at the outside door handle itself as i have seen a few of them break on the E series vans.you may be able to get detailed instructions thru autozone.com or @ autozone. hope this helps and good luck

Need instructions on how to remove the door interior panel on a ford e150 to service/replace the door lock solenoid. The door lock intermittently fails to respond.

Look for the phlips head screws in arm pad area and around panel. Once removed you can pry off panel but be carefull not to break plastic clips if you do no sweat they are cheap to replace.

CHATTERING CONTACTOR

Remove the door trim panel & you can try to lubricate the door lock actuator. Probably will end up replacing actuator--dealer item only
