He said thermometer....... not thermostat ! the thermometers on corsas always fail with a bit of water, they're in your lower front grill, drivers side.

That is not your thermostat, that has to be the temp sensor on your cylinder head, should be next to the intake manifold on the head. it has 1 cable. that sensor´s only job is to show you the temp of the engine on the temp dial in your instrument display
the thermostat is connected to a water hose that goes to your radiator, its also on the cyinder head, but thermostats are only mechanical doors regulated by temperature that allow hot water from the engine go cool down on the radiator.
let me know

At how many miles should I change the timing belt on my vauxhall corsa 1.0

You didn't say whether it is a Corsa A, B or C but no matter as they all seem to have timing chains listed rather than belts.

There are no set intervals for chain replacement but that doesn't mean they can be neglected. It is a good idea to check them for wear periodically.

The bulbs in my rear brakes keep blowing. Vauxhall Corsa

Make sure its the correct bulbs.Then you have to back probe the circuit to determine where the short is. If its not the correct bulbs issue, then I recommend you test the brake switch on the brake pedal before going any further with this diagnosis.
