Question about 2005 Volkswagen Golf
I recently bought a GolfV but have discovered that I still cannot select reverse gear even after topping up the ATF oil with two litres of fluid. My mechanic has noticed a vacant "plughole" on the gearbox and suggests that this may lead to the solution.
Find a VW mechanic, those cars are known to have weak automatic and manual transmissions. You probably need a new one. Don't cheap out and buy a used one or you'll be sorry when it doesn't last. A quality rebuilt trans should have at least a 1 year warranty.
