A lot of vehicles have a metal clip/plate that you can get to when you open the door that will allow you to remove the cylinder with out remove the door panel. But on this truck I remember that it maybe apart of the handle and to get to you you do have to remove the panel to get to it. The main thing is you are looking for this slide clip that holds the cylinder in place. (if it is a part of the handle you may have to take the handle assemlby out and work on it as a unit)

Not sure if lock has solenoid or electric motor, but either way, can you hear clicks or any prominent sounds from the door whilst trying to unlock it? you may need to put your ear on the door, if no sound, then wiring needs to be checked, then motor or solenoid, if you do hear similar sounds to the other door then the mechanical part of the lock mechanism has failed and may require a kit or replacement.

Why wont my drivers side door unlock with the key?

If it works from the inside but not with the key, it could be a broken link between the lock cylinder and the door latch.

I lost my keys and there are two different keys to operate my jeep. One opens the door, and the other ones starts the car. Can I get a new set?

Sounds like somewhere along the life of your jeep someone changed the ignition cylinder, resulting in your having two separate keys. You will have to replace the ignition cylinder and all or maybe just the one driver's side door lock cylinder. There's really no way one key will work with both your existing ignition and door locks. Another suggestion is that you can get a complete matching set of locks and keys from someone who's parting out their Grand Cherokee, so you would then have only one key for all the locks.

My key broke off in the drivers side door. can I get to the lock and get it out? or do I have to replace the whole thing?

if you can get in the car with another key from another door, drive it to a locksmith. they can get it out and the cost will be very low since you are at their location.

96Nissan Sentra Drivers side door/trunk locks broken

my 97 had the same problem. if the key fits the lock and will turn the lock but the lock wont open the door then your problem lies in the linkage between the door lock cylinder and the locking mechanism.

if the key fits the lock and the lock wont turn at all, this is what happened to me, then your lock is seized. Ive actually seen this on alot of 95-99 sentras it seems to be some sort of design flaw. what I had to do was to replace the lock cylinder and locate a new key. the locks from a dealer are a little pricy so i went around to salvage yards, every nissan sentra from said year range door locks were all seized, I even tried the 200sx as its the same car but a 2 door, same problem. luckily i found out that the 94 nissan altimas have the same door locks so I dismantled the inside door panel of said altima and snagged both front door lock cylinders. i also got lucky as the key was still in the ignition, replaced both locks and got a key for about 20 bucks. depending on your problem you might need new lock cylinders

How do I fix a broken outer door handle on he drivers side?

Is there anything connecting the handle to the door latch assembly? Is the lock cylinder in the key hole and secured? It just sounds like the linkage may have slipped off the door handle

Key lock on drivers door won't unlock the door

you need to take the door panel off, there is a rod in there that connects to the lock cylinder it frequently pops off, there is a little plastic clip that should hold it on to the cylinder it may be broken!!
