Troubleshootin po1391 and po740

The 1391 most likely is the cam sensor or crank sensor, crank sens is located in the bell housing on the pass side and I believe the cam sensor is in the distributor, 740 is a TCC (Torque Convertor Control) performance code. The crankshaft sensor is my 1st choice, TCC performance is calculated comparing engine speed to vehicle speed.

My husband is trying to fix my 04 dodge ram 1500 4.7l, the computer says to replace the crank sensor and or cam sensor. the crank sensor was replaced a month ago. it wont stay running. but he doesnt know...

On the 4.7L, the cam position sensor is located on the right cylinder head (thats the passenger side) toward the front below the valve cover gasket. Not on the front of the head but on the side where the exhaust manifold is attched at the forward end of the head. The crankshaft position sensor is located on the same side (right) but is at the opposite end of the engine between the bell housing and the block. The crankshaft position sensor can be replaced without removing the engine or transmission, it just looks tight. Also, on the crankshaft position sensor, it slides out of a rubber gromet. They are located as follows: the cam sensor on the 2.4 engine is mounted on the side of the front camshaft, right next to the fuel rail you will see the wires following to it and the crank sensor is located right above the oil filter on the engine. Hope this helps

Do need you to know where the sensor is located ? If so it's located inside distributor housing, just below rotor on (3.9L-V6 5.2L-V8 5.9-V8) 8.0L-V10 cam sensor is located on the timing chain cover.

Looking for the cam sensor location on a 3.9 litre dodge engine

Hi my name is Allen!

What engine do you have?

If you have the 3.9 liter the cam sensor is the pick-up coil under the distributor cap.
