Question about 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
Pay your garage mechanic lots of money and in the morning it will be fixed.... sorry had to go for the joke.
now for the answer.
you need a special tool it looks like a very very wide screw driver with a tooth missing like the letter u with a handel on it. remove the door handels shoud come off with long philips screwdriver.
several minutes later you may need to take off the buttons (plastic) that hide all the screews.
The big heads are slipped into slots in the pannel start to pull the panel away and where it stops you it is attache to the body with these clips. use a screw driver to search the edges for a week spot. the big bladed screw driver may work but it damages as many as it saves. so use the special tool.
find and locate the factory clips and pop them off with the tool. some will break sorry they are made of plastic and its already 7 yrs old or soo... the clips fit in the door panel which is made of particle board about 1/8 inch thick with special slots for the big side of the clip heads. they look like mushrooms and you are going to use the tool to lift the mushroom head like clip out of the steel door, it will come free but you will loose some as the heads will come off leafing the stem behind soory it will happen. work your way around 3/4 of the pannel then lift the panel up and it should come clear. getting to the door lock will not be so easy use pc3 brand of lubricant it is aircraft cable rated good for airplanes it is a wax that is liquid at room temperature and keeps water out and prevents rust to lubricate the lock mechanism... sorry but the easy part was removing that cover over the door. getting to the lock ...not so easy... window must be up to get to it. it may be rivited inplace you may need a chisel to remove it while others are bolted in with a special torx wrech
some with a pop rivit style of atachment....when its out clean and lubricate and repace with new or clean an lubricate and replace. also problem could be in the swich or wiring.
