If you plan on keeping the car for any real length of time, invest in a manual. Any good auto parts place should have one. They usually have pictures and instructions as well as wiring diagrams.

Think about it. Good Luck

Vehicle information Center and radio fuses keep blowing at the same time. 96 jeep grand Cherokee limited. Help !

the fuse has only so many loads no actual fuse you.
there are more than one fuse related to a radio, besides the one marked RAD. so... why not tell the exact fuse.......????

we disconnect each to find the one that is shorted.
the fuse prevents the wire fire, so... do not up the amps.
ZJ , jeep it is. 96

fuses 3
FB 12 (fused dimmer to radio and other places
FB 15 main radio power,(run -acc)
PDC 17 dome lights and radio memory wire....

you need to know what fuse, then look in the FSM
and see all things wired to that fuse.
the starting page is
8w-47-2 (radio) (posted 100s of times)

does fuse hold if radio is disconnected?????
lets pretend fuse 12 blows
see page 8w-11-8 fuse 12, feed.
the next page covers fuse 15....
you need to look at all feed wires to the fuse that blows
that includes options, and aftermarket hacks to car.

10 amp Small light fuse passenger side keeps burning out

its just electrics, and ohms laws..
if the right fuse is there, it burns out for one reason, a short.
(excessive current) and prevents fire, the battery can supply 500 amps
easy and you'd not want to short that, ever.
first thing, is to post the name of the fuse, they all have names.
rule 2, most fuses can have 20 loads, not just the named, load on fuse.
so, only schematic of the system shows ALL loads.
no named fuse, no joy, or post a photo to it with finger pointing, >>> here.

the car came with an opertators guide, in the glove box and all guides
name the fuses, if lost get one.
here it is for free.

and once the name of fuse is know , the full scematic is
DIY, discounted here..... (i make nothing saying that...)

to find a short we use an ammeter, and a circuit breaker
to replace fuse that burns out.
then we drop loads off this buss until the short, goes byebye.
thats it.
if it dont go way, then the harness is shorted, (ask how to find if so)

The ECM-1 fuse keeps blowing what is a posable solution for this problem!

Look behind your battery, there is a large wiring harness there. Lots of times the battery leaks acid all over these wires and they start shorting out.
That may not be your problem but is a good place to start. I'd have to look at a scematic to see what all is ran off that fuse.

Blown radio fuse and cant find the blown fuse. no fuse scematic

look for a red 10A in your cars fuse panel.
Also, the radio should be fused in the yellow and red wires. They may be enclosed in a black box the wire runs into on some makes. Check them too and replace as necessary.
