1998 Chrysler Cirrus loud front end squeaking while driving. Worse when turning both right and left. You can feel it as you are steering. What can this problem be and is it common in this car and is it a safety issue?

We also have a 1998 Cirrus with a loud front end squeaking while driving. It is most noticeable at slow speeds while turning or going over bumps. The previous forum said it might be a lower ball joint. Is this expensive to replace/repair?

I had the same problem with ours. I fixed it by getting a flex hose grease gun and filling the upper joints. You'll need the flex hose to get into the area for the grease-sert. After this simple lube job, ours sounds like a new car.

Well could be a dried out lower ball joint or just the upper strutsare dried out and need some oil sprayed on them to soften up the rubbers .but I would say it is more likely to be the lower ball joint needs replacing

I have a 2011 Nissan Sentra. It has developed a loud hum and vibration to the steering wheel from the front end .it has 180,000km. Any ideas?

How are the tires? New? Old? Rotate them and see if noise goes away. Possibly front wheel bearing in the front drive axle where it goes thru the hub and rotor.......goes the noise get worse if you turn right or left slightly when driving it? If it gets worse on one side that is the side with the bad bearing.....replace as needed.

My camaro squeaks really loud whenever i turn the steering the wheel left or right whether I'm moving or sitting still. It sounds like it's coming from both sides of the front end.

tie rod ends dry? this kind of thing is easily found if one person moves the wheel and the other listens and/or feels the different front end components. loud squeaks are generally accompanied by vibration which is hard to miss if you get down close to it.

Need to replace the battery, where is it located???

Left front fender well. Turn the steering wheel to full left and remove the black portion inside the fender well. It should be labled as "Battery access".

Steering is really stiff after replacing power steering pump on 2000 chrysler cirrus??

Is the drive belt adjusted properly. Did you bleed all air from the system after installing the pump? Start the engine and turn the steering wheel from left to right fully 10 times. This will remove any trapped air. Check the fluid level and top it off.

your power steering pump could be going bad. if so replace it or it could freeze up and break a belt.

Whirring noise in the front-end of a 2000 Cirrus

it does sound like wheel bearing a cv joint dont make noise and then stop but you can jack the car up and in neutral try to shake the tire from side to side.to see if you have any play then turn the wheel by hand try to feel for roughness in bearing. let me know what you find. Phil.
