Mine is a 1990, beleive it or not, it hooks to the negative side of your coil under the hood facing the front of your truck it will be on the right hand side, (black is ground and red is hot for the light)

RED WIRES INTO THE IGNITION AND IS HOT ONLY WHEN THE KEY IS ON, GREEN IS THE SIGNAL WIRE AND WIRES TO THE NEGATIVE SIDE OF THE COIL, WHITE IS WHEN THE LIGHTS ARE ON SO YOU CAN SEE YOUR TACH AT NIGHT, BLACK IS GROUND, LET ME KNOW IF YOU HAVE SEEN THIS COMMENT, ROB

ECM Not communicating with my scanner

It's an OBD I system, so you can't hook up to the ECM with an OBD II scan tool. Have you made sure the ECM is getting power and ground? Have you ruled out any blown fuses, tripped circuit breakers, or blown fusible links?

A/c belt replacement

It should go right on without any hassle. Double check your belt. Buy another one at a different place, you can always return one of them. It sounds like the wrong size.
