Question about 2002 Chevrolet Silverado 1500HD
When it's cold out my 02 1500HD starts but then wants to die and revs back up. If you give it a little gas and hold it for a few seconds it stops. An once you drive it and go to start it, does fine. I've changed the fuel filter and have ran 3 tanks of gas with lucas fuel injector cleaner. Any ideas what's causing it????
I had a similar problem with my 03 i went through the stages as you did. also i had a check engine light come on the read out was for lean fuel mix. I finally figured out it was the intake gasket leaking and when the motor got warm it expanded enough to close the leak. The way i tested that was when the motor was cold i started it and sprayed carb cleaner around the gasket and it almost died out. i'm not sure if that is recommended but that is what i did. I changed the gasket and have not had another problem.
