Question about 1997 Kia Sephia
We just bought a 1997 Kia Sephia RS. It will not pass inspection because in NC they have to be able to hook up to the OBD-II port and when they do it comes back with No Connection to the ECM. There are four wires going to the OBD-II connector (Blue, Red, Black/Yellow, and Black). I have ohmed all four wires out from the OBD-II connector to the plug that connects to the ECM. All four wires are good. We also took it to Advance Auto Parts and their scan tool will not connect either. Other than this the car runs fine. Please help if you can! Thanks in Advance. Andy
That usually means that the fuse for the DLC port is blown. if you check your owners manual look for fuses labeled AUX, CIGAR, DATA, DLC. it is usually one of those that the DLC is fused through. i encounter this frequently as i do emissions inspections. check the fuses and you should find the culprit there!
