All a replacement key is for is to unlock the doors for when you lock the keys inside, you need to ask the dealer for a replacement ignition key with the sensor in it to turn on the ignition

Make sure that all the doors are closed and unlocked and wait for dome light to go out before starting.
Insert the ignition key into the ignition switch
Open drivers door
Close/open drivers door
Wait 8 secs
On/lock/on (MY06-07) OR 2 on/lock OR on/lock (MY08)
Close drivers door
Press remote & keep pressing one button & then the other slowly(2 secs) until locks start working(they wont operate if key is in ignition).
