Question about 2003 Volvo XC70
This is an automatic trans in a 2002 Volvo XC70. When from a parked position you put it into drive the car jerks forward. If you put it into reverse it doesn't **** backwards. This didn't happen when it was new. It has been happening for at least 2 years and I've been told it is normal
Check the engine/trans mounts. A good way to check yourself is to have someone standing in front of the engine with the hood open obviously, while you shift the tranny to drive or reverse, if your friends see's the engine moving vigorously, it's worn out mounts.

Normally it is the front brake pads that is not holding the car until you put it in drive. have the brake pads checked and replace if needed

check tranny fluid.if fluid level is correct.change fluid and filter if its been a long while.if it still wont go into gear.your tranny oil pump is worn.and the forward clutch seals and drive plates worn.
