The best way to replace a water pump is to drain all the radiator fluid first ,youll also have to remove some belts and hoses to get to it ,you will also have to remove the fan blades ,but you can get the owners repair manual for your car or truck and it will give you the correct steps and order to remove the water pump , the new pump will need a new gasket and gasket sealer along with loctite tread sealer for the bolts when replacing the waterpump ,remember the order in taking off the parts and keep them in order when removing them , while you have the belts and hoses off it,s also a great time to inspect the belts and hoses any cracks or brittleness in theese components should be replaced at that time since it,s an easy job then , but refer to the service manual for pictures and descriptions of the area you will be working on , and always remember it pay,s to get your hands dirty , thanks sincerely glenn

Water pump

The water pump on this vehicle whether it is a four cylinder or a V-6 engine is driven by the timing belt and the timing belt has to be removed in order to change the water pump. The labor is between four and five hours times your local labor rate and figure about $150 in parts to as high as $350 in parts if you're going to do the timing belt and bearings. This job is not for the amateur home mechanic

Is there a timing belt and water pump service for the 2007 ml 350 at 100,000 miles

No the ML 350 uses a timing chain and the water pump is external on the front side of the engine. No timing belts to worry about on those engines.

How do I change the water pump and timeing belt?

The 3.2 and 3.5L ARE interference engines with zero tolerance. That means, like I said, if you get it wrong and start the engine, you will blow the motor. It is nothing like a 350 chevy. My advice would be to take it to an auto repair shop, and not a friend that thinks he is a mechanic. It is not worth blowing your motor.
