Question about 1992 Daihatsu Charade
My 1992 daihatsu charde starts up with difficultly and then will just die. Just before this started happening from 0 - 25 mph my car would rev on its own but once it reached 30 mph is ran smooth. What could be the problem?
You need to check the throttle stop cushion is making contact. The engine will hunt if you have air in the throttlebody coolant pipes, if the coolant sensor is faulty or if the TPS isn't calibrated.

Your engine is probably an EJ-DE twin cam 12 valve.
Generally Daihatsu belts have marks on them that line up with dimples on the sprockets for the intial phasing. You rotate the engine to top dead centre on No1 piston and install the belt from there. The cams should be not be putting any pressure on the intake and exhaust valves of No1 when phased correctly.
