How hard do you have to pull the side light?

  • jammedfool Mar 12, 2009

pretty hard. theres only one screw at the top, after that you pull straight forward. it might look light its gonna break when you pull it, so to be safe make sure you get an even grip around the front. car companies seem to make the sidelights hard to change. out of interest is it the right or left side of yours? because the battery looked like it was gonna get in the way on mine. not that it does or anything, just i looked for another screw behind it for ages, then gave up and used a bit of brute force. all in all just pull it straight and.. well id say it worked for me if you pull it harder than you think you should. sorry this comment was so long lol

lol, that was very helpful. Thank you

It was the drivers side, i thought that i was going to break it, so gave up in the end (got too many weird looks from ppl :S ) and by some miracle the bulb is now working, so hopefully i won't have to change the bulb at all.. ever

    thanks tho

Remove the screw above the headlamp. Pull the entire side light straight out towards you.

Sidelight bulb replacement on 1997 toyota corolla

open up the bonnet and you should see a screw attaching to the sidelight cluster. this is the only screw to... unscrew. after this pull the sidelight straight forward not sideways or any other way, then you should be able to access the bulb. putting it back is basically all that in reverse, just observe the little clip on the back of the cluster that it goes into the hole its meant to :-)
hope this helps as i had trouble at first

How often should you change the cambelt on a 1.6 toyota corolla 1997 gs model

The best way to insure a healthy timing belt is to replace it at the factory recommended intervals. This includes replacement of the water pump if that is recommended.
