ur air bag system is not really a diy fix for most people have car scanned for the trouble code some auto stores such as auto zone / advanced do it for free the code will give u a start point---problem can be as small as a power surge to a bad modular --usually your asked to check fuse and connections but air bags are sensitive touching or moving the connector wrong can set it off
Testimonial: "It was good to get something that I can do i.e. bring it over to Autozone for a reader code check. Thanks."

I have this problem and removed the Fuse to avoid the battery getting flattened again.
I thought it would just be a stop light switch adjustment required.
No matter how much I wound the upper nut up, to make the plunger end stick further out, the brake pedal was still not depressing the plunger.
I removed the lower nut completely from the threaded shaft that the plunger slides up inside of. Manually pushing the plunger turned the Brake Lights off, so the Stop Switch was OK.
Then I noticed there was a hole in the bracket on the Brake Pedal, right where the plunger should be pressing against! There is no way the plunger can get depressed, if it enters a hole! I assume there should be some sort of plastic 'plug' that press fits into that hole, for the nylon plunger end to push against - and had gone missing somehow.
I affected a makeshift repair by cutting a strip of plastic from prepaid Mobille load card, folding it in half to give it a bit more stiffness, and holding it in place over the hole in the brake pedal arm bracket, with a couple of turns of insulating tape.
I am trying to find if there is such plastic 'plug' in Parts Lists. I will be asking the Hyundai Service Center as to how this went missing after the 65,000Km Service.!
